Please note this booking is for the NORTHWOOD LOCATION The Travel Health & Vaccine Clinic will perform non-medically necessary Tuberculin Skin Testing ('TB Skin Tests'). The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not cover the cost of TB Skin Testing for employment. Our program is not funded under OHIP so we do continue to charge for education or assisted living placement TB skin tests. If you may be requesting a TB skin test for OHIP funded purposes it is suggested that you contact your family medical provider. TB Skin tests must be read 48-72 hours after administration. Your follow up will be scheduled at the time of visit. If you do not follow up within that timeframe the test is invalid and you will have to wait 7 days for retesting, at your expense. TB Skin tests cannot be performed on Fridays preceding a holiday Monday There is a $55.00 + HST fee for each TB skin test. A two step TB skin test is two separate tests, and two separate charges. A two step TB Skin Test will be billed for each individual test at the time of injection. There is a separate charge for each TB Skin Test in a 2-step TB Skin Test. This fee is not refundable in the event you do not attend your visit or fail to cancel with more than 1 hour notice. Effective Jan 30st, 2017 TB skin testing for the purposes of education is insured under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. However, as our clinic is not funded under OHIP; we will be continuing to charge for providing TB Skin Testing for students (as we are not using publicly funded Tubersol/TB Skin Test Serum). Please note that in addition to being listed here, this is also identified in the consent form for TB skin testing that all clients must complete, and as such we will not provide refunds to clients who are unaware of this policy. All students are encouraged to contact their primary care provider (family doctor, nurse practitioner or clinic) to determine if they are able to accommodate them for TB skin tests. Due to a large number of no-show appointments, we do require pre-payment for the initial TB skin test. If you are needing a two step TB skin test we will schedule your follow up visits in store at the time of your visit. You may cancel the appointment up to 24 hours prior to the visit for a full refund. Between 24 hours prior to the appointment up to the time of of the appointment you may call to reschedule your visit at no cost. The fee charged for this appointment is non-refundable in the event of a missed appointment or failure to cancel.
